Mechanism Of Action | KANADINE contains two active ingredients, paracetamol and codeine phosphate. Paracetamol is a clinically proven analgesic/antipyretic. Paracetamol produces analgesia by elevation of the pain threshold and antipyresis through action on the hypothalamic heat regulating centre. Codeine and other opioids mimic the effects of naturally occurring pain reducing chemicals (endorphins) that are found in the brain and spinal cord. They act on the opioid receptors in the brain and block the transmission of pain signals. This combination is used to reduce fever and to relieve mild to moderate pain caused by a variety of conditions (e.g. headache, toothache, neuralgia, migraine, period pains). |
INDICATIONS | KANADINE is indicated for the relief of fever (pyrexia), and mild to moderate pain. |
CONTRAINDICATIONS | -Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. -Paracetamol should not be used in patients with severe liver and kidney diseases. |
