INDICATIONS | KANASTATIN is indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of Candida infections of the skin, mucous membranes. It is also used for the prevention of candidiases development during long-term treatment with antibiotics or steroids. |
CONTRAINDICATIONS | Hypersensitivity to each of the components |
Side EFFECTS | Although side effects from nystatin are not common, they can occur. The most common side effects resulted from the skin ointment or cream include itching, irritation, and burning |
WARNINGS | KANASTATIN has little activity against bacteria, protozoa and viruses. The treatment should be discontinued if irritation occurs from topical use. KANASTATIN cream or ointment is for external use only. Do not use occlusive dressings when treating candidiasis. |
Dosage And Administration | Cream and Ointment: Treatment of cutaneous or mucocutaneous mycotic infections caused by Candida (monilia) species, apply to affected areas 2-3 times daily, or as indicated, until healing is complete |
